The Rumble Beneath Your Feet

This body of work is an exploration of subterrestrial and unfamiliar spaces on the Wellesley College campus. Shot using a plastic Holga camera and 120 film, the images reflect the rudimentary tools used to capture them. In this work I attempt to surrender control, instead allowing an unexpected deep enchantment of the spaces to self-express through unregulated light leaks and variability in focus. Upon developing the images, the energy of the subjects and the eerie locations appeared as if a spirit flew into the camera and imprinted on the negatives with an ephemeral glow.
